Birmingham; Home to Scientific Inventions
Birmingham is United Kingdom’s second most populated city in terms of metropolitan area and third most populated city in terms of built-up area. From a medium-sized market town during the medieval period, Birmingham flourished to global eminence in the 18th century at the heart of the Midlands Enlightenment and subsequent Industrial Revolution, which saw the town making universal progresses in the field of science, technology and economic development, manufacturing a series of inventions that placed the foundations of modern industrial society.
